The ROSTEST team of the 2000s goes back to the “ROSTEST Moscow” Russian Center for Testing and Certification, which was founded in 1973 by the USSR “Gosstandart” [State Standard] agency. In 1992, certification was introduced in Russia, and in 1993 ROSTEST Moscow became the first Russian company to obtain an accreditation.

Our scope of accreditation encompasses the vast majority of active technical regulations and includes, inter alia, the following products: textiles; footwear; crockery; products intended for children; furniture; toys; electronics and electrical appliances; mechanical engineering, chemical, and food products; perfumery and cosmetic products.

Our experts engage in the work of technical committees under the Russian Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology (Rosstandart); they are a part of working groups, committees, and commissions under the Federal Service for Accreditation (RusAccreditation), the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, and the Eurasian Economic Commission. ROSTEST experts are highly valued in the areas of rulemaking and legislative process.

One of our priorities at ROSTEST is developing international cooperation, which is why we work closely with our overseas partners - global expert players like TÜV Rheinland, UL, Intertek, SGS, NEMKO, KTR. Through regular communication with international market participants we are able to constantly monitor the latest trends in the international market of conformity assessment. We foster partnerships with Russian and international business associations.

Russian Federation has been a member of IECQ (the Quality Assessment System of the International Electrotechnical Commission) since 1980, and it became a member of the National Certification Body system in 2018. In the same year, the ROSTEST Certification Body was assigned the functions of an executive body operating in the IECEE certification system on behalf of the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology (Rosstandart).

Currently, ROSTEST is the only accredited National Certification Body in the Russian Federation with the power to issue and recognize international certificates and CB reports (test reports) as per IEC CB scheme (https://www.iecee.org/). ROSTEST certificates and test reports (ROSTEST CB Test Certificates and CB Test Reports) are recognized in over 80 countries around the world.

ROSTEST is accredited to carry out works in accordance with 685 international standards, covering 18 product categories as per IECEE classification. The main groups are the following: HOUS - household appliances, OFF - information technology, TRON - audio and video equipment, TOOL - power tools, LITE - lighting equipment, and other categories.

The ROSTEST Moscow Testing Center has been an accredited laboratory in the IEC system (CBTL) since 1996. Its scope of accreditation encompasses over a hundred standards covering a variety of modern household appliances, as well as audio and video equipment, and electrical installation accessories and connection devices.

ROSTEST actively participates in developing and updating the technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union. We are also involved in the activities of various committees and working groups.
